Even today, there are museums who understood as nineteenth-century institutional bodies, burocratized to the maximum with a great tradition of “no changes” inertia. In other words, the typical perception of a rise to an unreachable pedestal institution built by hands people rise, in turn, to another pedestal. Some polled that this form of management has not gone so badly over time, because there they follow. It is an environment where you can find technical that they assert that what works should not be changed, and thus not complicated one life. We believe that if we wish to aspire to be an institution more effective and much more intelligent, many precautions should be taken. There have been specialists as it is the case of Carlos Obeso, proposed in his book Homo Faber, homo Sapiens, some guidelines that we subscribe to the effect. Repeating certain truisms, but we should remember them anyway from time to time, usually useful to do so do not you think?. Let’s go then.


We must make changes in the language of the Museum; Director, head, Concierge, guide, are words of an administrative bureaucracy that is anachronistic, and not just because they are male names. Many of these words, we also refer to very boring things: showcase, conservative… We must face our responsability in the modernization of the language of the Museum, is very important.


We must emphasize the collective over the individual. The research is collective; the exhibition is the result of many efforts, the task of spreading an exhibition, to mobilize a public, also is the task of a group of people. Obviously, we are individuals, but we must work together, each in their corresponding area of responsibility or their professional space, but always focusing on a collective goal.


Have as objective the promotion of learning not through “what I am” but of “what I do”. You learn not by the fact “be museologist” or “being exhibit”, but because “I do projects of museology” or “I do projects of museology”; What we value most professionals as it is to actively participate in projects. It is also important that instead of “send”, must be “supported” in the non-professional development. The museologist and/or exhibit a team leaders should be aware that skills and competences the members of his team, have professional or personal difficulties arise, etc.


Have historical memory. You may tend to “use” a technician or a consultant as long as it is useful and abandon it when already it is not – don’t know Commitee, has no driver’s license…-, which can be profitable in the short term just reinforcing the famous culture of “professional contempt” that is totally unacceptable. Who stays in this dynamic of contempt, as well as being a stupid, cause his own professional grave. It is made to tested.


It is very important to be consistent between what is preached and what is done. The inconsistency is a deadly enemy for a community that is intended to be intelligent. It functions as a lethal virus.  You must learn in Group of our successes and also failures. The failures helps us better understand the difficulties. On a computer, all must learn from the failure and not simply blame it to the weakest, it is a collective responsibility and serves so that we learn, not to step on the head to anyone.

To transfer knowledge it must be first. Cannot be transferred to others what is not. On the computer, what more must assess is the possession of knowledge. And the transmission of such knowledge to the team, is most effective if done face to face. Written reports, emails and not to mention the whastapps, they will never exceed the value of the face to face as a way of transmission of knowledge. Therefore, it is not enough to know, must know how to transmit that knowledge also, is fundamental. Concrete and direct transmission far surpasses the abstract multimedia. If the knowledge which we want to convey, in addition, we connect with the life experiences that we can bring, this transmission will be much more effective, it will be kindly forceful.
